Meet Nicola
My name is Nicola Manji and this page will give you a bit of additional information about me, my practice and my approach to help you decide if you want to work with me. Being a trained and ethical counsellor is very important to me. I have a CPCAB Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and I am registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. This membership reassures you that they have checked my training, qualifications and insurance.
Alongside my private practice, I also work with two local charities; Northampton Rape Crisis and YouthWorks, Kettering. My experience includes supporting both young people and adults at every stage of life.
My practice is inclusive, and my aim is to create a warm, safe and affirming space to welcome clients from all backgrounds and identities including LGBTQ+ clients. All aspects of your identity will be welcome; I want you to know that you can bring who you are without fear of being challenged or dismissed.
I am a neurodivergent-affirming therapist and support the diverse ways that minds work. I approach our work with curiosity, acceptance and focus on your lived experience, your needs, and what it means for you to feel heard and supported.
My Approach
I work as a person-centred therapist with an integrative approach, which means I place you at the heart of the therapeutic process. I strongly believe that you are the expert in your own world, I won’t tell you how to feel or what to do. I will support you as you navigate the challenges you're facing, helping you make sense of your emotions, thoughts and behaviours.
There is no script to our counselling sessions, you are free to bring whatever feels important to you in your own time and your own way. Depending on your preference, we’ll work mostly through talking. I also sometimes incorporate creative tools when they feel helpful.
